FIVE-STAR HOTEL; HYATT REGENCY LONDON – THE CHURCHILL INVITES GUESTS TO EMBARK ON A CULINARY ADVENTURE WITH HISPANIC HERITAGE TO KICK OFF NEW TRAVEL-INSPIRED AFTERNOON TEA SERIES.
The Montagu Kitchen, nestled within the elegant Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, is introducing a brand-new afternoon tea, inspired by the universal love for travel and the diverse cultural background of the restaurant’s culinary team. The exciting dining experience will bring a piece of ‘home’ from various parts of the world right to diners’ tables.
Launching late September 2024, the first of a travel-inspired afternoon tea series will begin with a focus on Central and South American destinations, inspired by the team and the many travels of Sir Winston Churchill, as the hotel commemorates 150 years of the man this year. A showcase of the vibrant and diverse flavours of both regions, each dish has been meticulously crafted by The Montagu Kitchen team to allow guests to embark on a unique mix of British and Hispanic heritage right in the
heart of the capital.
From the moment visitors embark on their afternoon tea journey at The Montagu Kitchen, they will feel like they are setting off on adventure. To kickstart the experience, guests will be greeted with a symbolic boarding pass, a refreshing washcloth and a welcome drink to enjoy. With various touches reminiscent of intrepid travelling throughout, including luggage tags and a polaroid photo as a lasting memento of the experience, guests will really feel like they are being transported on the trip of a
lifetime.

The brainchild of Executive Chef Carlo Martino and his team, along with newly appointed pastry chef Mathieu Dias Fernandes, the Afternoon Tea is set for a new lease of life with the menu reading as a love letter to various countries across South America.
Savoury delights include a Mexican Beans Taco, Fosforito, Corn Bead Chicken Sandwich with Pico de Gallo and a Vinaigrette Beef Sandwich. Whilst sweet treats, all of which are served in a bespoke handcrafted luggage box, will include flavours such
as Coconut and Pineapple, Hibiscus, Coffee and Tonka, and Chocolate and Dulce de Leche. Of course, no afternoon tea is complete without scones but this time, they will be served with an equatorial boost in the form of a bespoke pineapple and lime jam. Those who are feeling less adventurous or simply can’t resist a classic can also opt for scones with strawberry jam and cream.
To complement the culinary experience, The Montagu Kitchen will be serving a twist to the deliciously refreshing Caipirinha, an iconic cocktail originally from Brazil and made up of Cachaça sugar and lime.
Diners can also choose from a curated selection of teas including White, Black, Green, Blooming, Matcha and Herbal Tea as well as a bespoke blend which has been meticulously crafted to transport drinkers to the vibrant landscapes of Latin America. Coined ‘The Montagu Bloom’, the beautiful marigold flower and fresh silver needle tea with scents of mango looks to blend traditional ingredients with exotic flavours, to provide visitors with a truly unique tea-drinking experience.

The afternoon tea will be served Thursdays to Saturdays from 2:00pm to 5:30pm and will be priced at just £65 per person including unlimited tea and coffee. Guests can also opt for the Champagne afternoon tea, including a glass of Pommery Brut Champagne, for only £75 per person, or the Rosé afternoon tea for just £85 per person, which will include a glass of Pommery Rosé Champagne. Also on offer is the Wild Idol Afternoon tea, which will see the addition of a glass of non-alcoholic sparkling
wine for just £75 per person.
The Montagu Kitchen will now also be accessible direct from the street, following the installation of a brand-new restaurant specific door.
