The Yoga Library

The Yoga Library – A relevant yoga offering that allows us to select classes based on our intuition

The Yoga Library is a thoroughly modern and relevant online platform that stands out from the crowd.  It was born from a series of successful IG lives that yoga teacher founder Jaime Hepburn started during the lockdown.

It allowed her to connect with people giving her a sense of purpose and her classes resonated with so many people leading her to create The Yoga Library.

The Yoga Library gives power to its subscribers as it values their intuition while at the same time simultaneously giving students guidance and support. Users are able to select a class with emotive titles such as ‘Homeward’, ‘Reflection’ and ‘Relinquish’ which work to spark memories and feelings in the user, guiding them to find the perfect class depending on their mood at that time.

With a range of yoga styles, there is something for everyone. Within the categories of Vinyasa, Slow, Power, Rest, Yin and Still, you are able to try dynamic, restorative and energetic classes. So, however, you would like to feel it’s up to you to choose whether you sweat, rest, flow or just breathe more deeply.  There is also a range of carefully curated workshops which allow you to immerse yourself in a specific area of interest allowing you to deepen your practice.  Whether this means delving into a particular posture or understanding challenging asana.

The minimalist setting of the videos is important to the founder as she feels it allows you to have mental space in your practice without distraction and clutter. With this in mind, students are greeted by a gloriously clean, refreshing space and can choose from classes with Jaime, the founder of Jess, her partner. By stripping back all distractions, the team has created a welcoming space that lets you focus on the basics, breathing and movement.

Over the last decade, the focus of yoga has moved towards creating a perfect yoga aesthetic a- with Yoga Library you move away from this and towards what is good for you. Perhaps yoga has gone full circle and the practice is returning to its roots.

It is here to make you focus on how the classes are making you feel, not what part of the body you are moving. By teaching you to embrace intuition, the offering is an online platform that switches you off. It encourages you to tap into their sense of knowing and quieten down the mind, leading to all sorts of life-enhancing revelations.

“The Yoga Library is a very welcoming, real, humanness yoga platform, its aim is to help guide you back home to yourself by way of practice. Even though it’s online, I want people to say that it’s really welcoming and that they feel guided and supported, that the warmth and positivity reaches through the screen and into their homes”

“Yoga just makes everything clearer. It keeps me rooted and grounded. It guides me through turbulence. It levels me out. Mental health issues continue to be on the rise. If we can help people navigate turbulence through connection, breath, and movement, then it is important.” Explained Jaime Hepburn, Founder of The Yoga Library.

Meet the classes:

Vinyasa: Our signature class. Dynamic, energetic, and creative, these classes link breath through movement in a flow-based format. The accompanying playlist will have you grooving along on your mat.

Slow: Slower, more considered movement. Similar to Vinyasa, but with a steadier pace, longer holds, and a touch more mindfulness weaved throughout.

Power: A strength-based practice with longer holds and conditioning drills weaved throughout. These classes are tough and will surely deliver a sweat.

Rest: Gentle and restorative. These beginner-friendly classes are deeply nurturing and especially grounding. They centre on our breath.

Yin: We move at a snail’s pace through long holds to target areas of resistance in the body. Yin yoga targets deep connective tissue underneath the muscle and is designed to heal/repair the body.

Still: Guided meditation and breath-work classes to help you find balance, reduce stress and anxiety, and clear the mind.

Workshop: These short classes break down various postures and give you tips on technique as well as conditioning practices to help you strengthen the body in the pursuit of some of the harder asana.
