STICKSʹNʹSUSHI MANCHESTER

Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester Opening in Spinningfields This Spring

Sticks’n’Sushi to Launch First Manchester Restaurant in Spinningfields

Manchester’s dining scene is set for a stylish new addition this spring as internationally acclaimed restaurant group Sticks’n’Sushi opens its doors in Spinningfields on 30th March, marking its first venture into the city.

Already well established in London, Copenhagen and Berlin, the Danish-Japanese brand has built a loyal following for its distinctive blend of sleek Scandinavian minimalism and the meticulous artistry of Japanese cuisine. Now, Manchester diners will have the opportunity to experience the concept firsthand — a refined yet relaxed approach to sushi and grilled specialities served with the spirit of Omotenashi, the Japanese philosophy of wholehearted hospitality.

At its heart, Sticks’n’Sushi is about balance. The menu brings together delicate sushi creations and flame-grilled skewers — the “sticks” — designed to be shared. Much-loved favourites include Beef Tataki with miso aioli, artichoke chips and shiitake & truffle ponzu, alongside Kani Korokke — crisp crab croquettes served with wasabi Caesar. The Hell’s Kitchen maki roll, topped with tuna and layered with heat and texture, is another signature that regulars seek out.

From the grill, the menu showcases standout dishes such as buttery Miso-Marinated Black Cod sticks and Chicken Meatballs glazed with teriyaki. For those wanting to experience the breadth of the kitchen’s craft, the generous sharing set menus — including As Good As It Gets, Set For Success and Greenkeeper — offer curated selections of starters, build-your-own Temaki Setto hand rolls and grilled sticks, creating a vibrant and sociable dining experience.

The drinks menu is equally considered. Expect a thoughtful sake list, Japanese teas and contemporary cocktails such as the Hibiscus Margarita and Matcha & Yuzu Spritz. Premium spirits, beer and the brand’s own-label yuzu pale ale complete the offering, ensuring the bar holds its own as a destination in its own right.

Occupying a prominent two-storey corner position in Spinningfields, the new restaurant has been designed by award-winning Berlin architects Diener & Diener. The interiors balance Japanese architectural precision with Scandinavian warmth, using glass, timber detailing and natural textures to create a space that feels light, elegant and inviting. By day, the restaurant offers a bright setting for business lunches and casual meet-ups; by night, the atmosphere shifts seamlessly into a more intimate and energetic dining destination. An expansive pergola terrace and bar will further enhance its appeal, offering all-day dining and drinks in one of Manchester’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

With its blend of craftsmanship, contemporary design and sociable dining, Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester is poised to become a go-to spot for everything from quick lunches and post-work dinners to long evenings over sushi, sticks and cocktails.

Bookings for 30th March onwards are now officially open. Guests can reserve a table via the booking link and sign up for soft launch previews and updates ahead of the opening.
