Ways to take your property to the next level

Your home is the place you spend at least 40% of your time throughout the year. The other 40% is most likely at work, and then 20% socialising – although you may be someone who likes to host their friends and family members at yours so the stats might be a little higher!

When spending so much time in your home, you want to ensure it’s a place you are proud of. A place where, when you get back after work, you feel relaxed and happy to be there and a place you want to enjoy on the weekends, during your time off. Whether you’re entertaining friends, unwinding with a good book, or simply enjoying a morning coffee, your home should feel like a sanctuary.

To make your home a sanctuary (or simply a place you are proud of), there are a few steps you can take. Some changes will be quick and affordable, such as buying custom outdoor cushions for your garden, whilst other changes may be more expensive, such as upgrading your kitchen.

To help give you some inspiration, we have put together a guide on three changes you can make to your property to take it to the next level.

Make the most of your wall space

There is so much you can do to your walls, to take them to the next level and add another dynamic to the room. The simplest change that you can make is to add artwork. By putting artwork up on the walls, you can break up any large, plain spaces as well as add some colour to the room and inject it with personality. An alternative to artwork would be to print out some photos and frame them; this way, you have memories you can relive every time you see them.

Add some indoor plants to different rooms

You’ll be amazed at how much of a difference plants can make to a room. Just like adding pictures to the wall, plants break up any empty spaces, whilst adding a nice green colour to the room. They also produce oxygen, which is good for you, and they are affordable. Our advice would be to buy plants which are easy to look after, this way you don’t have to invest too much time into watering and looking after them. If you want some inspiration, there are plenty of boards on Pinterest that you can look at to help give you a vision.

Make changes to your garden

When making upgrades to your home, you mustn’t forget your garden. Your garden is most likely a focal point of your home in the summer months, which is why it shouldn’t be neglected. For starters, decking should be installed, as this is ideal for hosting guests and giving you a place to sunbathe on and relax. You should always be repainting your fences, as they can get battered in the winter months, and mowing your lawn (there is nothing more unappealing than overgrown grass). If you have a good budget to spend, getting new furniture for your garden could also be a consideration, such as new chairs, new cushions and a new BBQ.

We hope we have given you some useful pointers on changes you can make to your home to take it to the next level. Which of the above tips did you find most useful?
