Mare Resorts Unveils ‘Taste Cyprus’: A New Culinary Celebration of Island Flavours

A new culinary event is coming to Cyprus this summer courtesy of Mare Resorts, the village-inspired hospitality brand with properties in Paphos and Ayia Napa. Taking place in June and July, the first annual Taste Cyprus will showcase the country’s incredible culinary heritage through a series of exclusive dinners and menu takeovers by two of the Mediterranean’s leading chefs.

From 14-15 June, Michelin-starred chef Alexandros Tsiotinis will be in residence at Mare Ayia Napa, delivering a specially curated dining experience inspired by memories tied to Cypriot ingredients and traditions. The menu, which includes dishes such as white carrot textures with grilled octopus and red bell pepper ice cream, elevates traditional ingredients and techniques with modern creativity.

Later, chef Iosif Sykianakis will take over the kitchens at Mare Ayia Napa (11-12 July) and Mare Paphos(17-18 July), serving his signature take on Mediterranean cuisine. Iosif’s menu will feature dishes such as langoustine puff pastry soup and spicy crab tartar, showcasing the freshest local ingredients from land and sea.

Taste Cyprus is designed to take guests on a journey into the heart of Cypriot culture through food, showcasing the island’s history of flavour in an immersive atmosphere that celebrates heritage and tradition. Taking place for the first time in 2025, guests can expect to see a yearly line-up of chef-led experiences each summer.

Part of the event proceeds will be donated to One Dream One Wish Association for children with cancer and related diseases. For more information, visit www.mareresorts.com.
