The Blue Lagoon launches limited run of midnight float therapy and sound healing sessions

Those searching for a truly magical and tranquil experience this summer should consider a trip to Iceland’s Blue Lagoon on the 21st, 28th June and 5th July 2022.

On these nights, the Blue Lagoon will be open until 1am, benefitting from Iceland’s famously late summer sunset time with a special midnight floating experience.

Coinciding with the main event, there will be three 30-minute sessions of Group Float Therapy conducted by Flothetta founder Unnur Valdís. Accompanied by sound healing from Vala Sólrún Gestsdóttir, this hypnotic treatment is an exclusive add-on limited to 25 guests per session. Group Float Therapy sessions will occur each night at 21:30, 22:15, and 23:00.

General entry to the midnight floating session costs 18900 ISK, or 118 GBP per person. This price includes access to the Blue Lagoon, complete with a Sound Healing experience, towel, complimentary tea and one drink of your choice at the In-Water Bar, all facemasks at the Mask Bar: Silica, Algae, Minerals, Lava, a Blue Lagoon gift and special offers at the skincare shops. To enhance the experience, the 30-minute session of Group Float Therapy costs an additional 5000 ISK, or 31 GBP per person.

Lava, the relaxed fine dining restaurant located at the Blue Lagoon, will also be offering a special three-course menu conceived to complement the lagoon experience on each of the midnight floating dates. This special menu costs 10900 ISK, or 68 GBP.

About Group Float Therapy

Float Therapy is the brainchild of Unnur Valdís, an Icelandic product designer who conceived this sublime treatment in 2012. Designing floatation gear and developing the training methods and experiential framework for Float Therapy, Unnur established Flothetta —a company dedicated to exploring the restorative benefits galvanized by the combination of water, weightlessness, and gentle massage. Targeting bone structure, joints, and the release of spinal tension through delicate bodywork including stretches, pulls, and light massage, float therapy is based on letting go. Flothetta-designed water gear provides floatation and your Flothetta-trained bodyworker brings the human touch, ushering you to new dimensions of physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

About Sound Therapy

Sound bath instruments — gongs, crystal lyres, copper harps, crystal alchemy bowls — are used to create the frequencies of aural healing, triggering meditative brainwaves that escort the mind, body, and spirit to a place of deep relaxation and profound wellbeing. The practitioner at the Group Float Therapy sessions, Vala SólrúnGestsdóttir, studied Tone Healing and Tone Therapy at Acutonics in England. Her interest in therapeutic sound was sparked by a serious illness in 2018. Finding increased strength and vitality through tone healing, she eventually dedicated herself to this field, aspiring to transmit her experience to people seeking an improved quality of life.
